Ferrero started playing golf at the early age of seven years old. She enjoys other sports, reading and music.

At the University of Texas, Ferrero earned All-Big 12 Conference honors both athletically and academically.
She was a member of the 2004 team that won the Big 12 Conference Championship and also finished second individually in the 2005 Big 12 Championship.
