INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — The second round of the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells is complete, and Cholcheva Wongras is still on top at the halfway point. She followed her opening 63 with a 3-under 69 to reach 10-under for the week and takes a two-shot lead into the weekend at the Players Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort.

Wongras has already clinched her LPGA Tour card, and her play over the first 36 holes has her moving in the right direction in the standings. She entered the week No. 9 in the Race for the Card. If the tournament ended today, she would move up to No. 4, comfortably inside the top 10 and in line for Category 9 status on the 2027 LPGA Tour Priority List.

Right behind her is Mirabel Ting, the No. 1 player in the Race for the Card, who sits alone in second at 8-under after rounds of 66 and 68. Ting clinched her LPGA Tour card weeks ago, and a weekend charge could cap her season with a win in the Epson Tour finale.

The biggest move of the day belonged to rookie Megan Streicher. The Cape Town, South Africa, native and former University North Carolina, Chapel Hill, standout fired a 7-under 64, the low round of the day, to jump into solo third at 7-under. Streicher entered the week No. 20 in the Race for the Card. If the tournament ended today, she would move to No. 14 and earn an LPGA Tour card for 2027.

Katherine Muzi, Amari Avery and defending champion Anne Chen are tied for fourth at 6-under. Chen entered the week No. 18 in the standings and is currently projected to move to No. 15, the final card spot, so she would reclaim her LPGA Tour card outright if she can hold her position over the weekend.

Four players round out the top 10 in a tie for seventh at 5-under: Lauryn Nguyen, Kaleiya Romero, Gianna Clemente and Haylee Harford Sanchez. Nguyen and Harford Sanchez are both fighting to stay inside the top 15. Based on today’s results, they are projected to move to No. 11 and No. 13, respectively.

Elsewhere on the bubble, Rachel Kuehn sits in a tie for 11th at 4-under as she tries to hold her No. 10 ranking and Category 9 status. Kate Smith-Stroh, who entered the week No. 14, is at 3-over and will need a strong weekend to stay inside the top 15.

At the conclusion of the Epson Tour Championship, 15 LPGA Tour cards will be awarded to the top athletes in the Race for the Card rankings. Nine cards were clinched before the Championship, which leaves six up for grabs with 36 holes to play at Indian Wells Golf Resort. Other status is also on the line this weekend in California.

Athletes who finish 11th through 15th will earn Category 16 status on the 2027 LPGA Tour Priority List. Athletes who finish 16th through 35th in the Race for the Card will go straight to the final stage of LPGA Q-Series in November. Every player in this week’s field has already secured full Category A status for the 2027 Epson Tour season, and the higher she finishes in the final standings, the better her priority within that category will be.
