Fresh off a victory on the Epson Tour, Jeongeun Lee6 wasted no time proving she still had momentum to spare.

Less than 24 hours after capturing the title at the IOA Golf Classic in Longwood, Fla., Lee6 boarded a red-eye flight, arrived in California in the early morning hours, and teed it up in the Monday Qualifier for the Fortinet Founders Cup, where she earned one of the two coveted spots in the field. There was no rest, no reset, and barely any sleep.

“I went straight to the housing, my friend's house, and then arrived maybe at 4:20 a.m. I took a shower in hot water. I needed that,” Lee6 said. “Then I didn't sleep because if I slept, I'd be more tired, I think. So, I didn't sleep, stretched a little bit, and then I had breakfast, and then went straight to the tee box.”

Despite the whirlwind turnaround, the 29-year-old never considered skipping the opportunity.

“I worried about the schedule because I had a red-eye flight, and then we got the 7:40 a.m. tee time, but it was the first qualifying opportunity, so I wanted to try,” she said. “My condition was not bad.”

Her round began steadily, as she made the turn to the back nine at 1-under. A bogey early on the back nine raised the urgency. What happened next changed everything.

“On hole four, I made a hole-in-one, and that's good momentum,” said Lee66. “On the next hole, I made birdie, so I made the Monday Qualifier. I'm so happy.”

The ace, her career ninth, came from 127 meters to a back pin placement, with an 8-iron.

“We couldn't see the ball going in because there was a big slope on the right side,” she explained. “And then on the green, I didn't see my ball... Oh my god, very lucky and during a qualifying round.”

The 2019 U.S. Women’s Open champion was joined in advancing through the Monday Qualifier by fellow Epson Tour member Lauren Hartlage, who secured the second available spot into the Fortinet Founders Cup field.

The improbable stretch for Lee6, from trophy ceremony to red-eye flight to hole-in-one, now continues on the LPGA stage, with Hartlage alongside her as both look to capitalize on their opportunity at the Fortinet Founders Cup.
