Moving Day lived up to its name as 144 athletes competed in the second round of the Great Lakes Championship at the Highlands on Saturday at The Heather. The cut was made at 1-under par with the top 60 and ties now preparing for the final round.

18-hole leader, Jennifer Elliott felt more confident heading into the second round, and her scorecard proves just that. The Australia native holed six birdies on the day to maintain the 36-hole lead heading into Championship Sunday. The Epson Tour sophomore had a more composed start to round two with a birdie on her second hole No. 11, followed shortly after by another on the par-5 15th.

“I was actually super chilled today, so that was really nice, said Elliott. “It was a good contrast to yesterday. I just had fun out there. I had a friend of mine's dad come out to caddy, so we were just having good conversations all day and were able to get the talk done today. So yeah, super happy with how it went.”

After making the turn, Elliott submitted a clean scorecard for the remainder of the day, finding four birdies, to sign for 6-under 66, holding a three-shot lead. For the first time in a long time the Australian will be playing in the final group tomorrow afternoon as she competes for the chance to earn her first Epson Tour victory.

“I haven't really been in this position too much before. I'm really grateful and thankful to be here in this position, mentioned Elliott. “I mean, if tomorrow's my time, then that's great. But if not, then I get the next week to tee it up again and do it all over again. So, I'm just going to go out with the same game plan that I had today. If it works, then great. But yeah, just get some rest, eat some food, and tee it up again tomorrow and see what happens.”

Catherine Park also found a clean scorecard and carded an impressive 4-under par round on Saturday. The 22-year-old has only competed on the Epson Tour for two weeks and is already finding herself in contention come Championship Sunday.

The recent LPGA Collegiate Advancement Pathway graduate is grateful for her quick transition from collegiate to professional golf, as she has continued to learn about her game. The University of Southern California alumna is the only player to sign for back-to-back bogey-free rounds this week. Will the rookie secure her first Epson Tour win in just her second start come Sunday afternoon.

“I think it's been really helpful,” said Park. “I feel like I didn't have a break in between, which has been nice for my golf game. It's just a lot of golf and playing out there and getting more experience and learning more about my golf game, which has been very helpful with coming out here. There wasn't much time to think about it. I just needed to play it, which has good for my brain.”

Epson Tour rookie, Mirabel Ting started her second round off with three birdies in her first six holes, coming off her third-place finish at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship last week. The current No. 11 in the Race for the Card leaderboard signed for a bogey-free round of 67 to round out the podium.

No. 1 LCAP graduate, Megha Ganne, signed a 5-under, 67 to make the cut at 1-under after faltering on day one. The Epson Tour rookie admitted to not feeling her best during round one and had to snap back into premier form this afternoon.

Sarah Rhee set the new 18-hole tournament scoring record at 8-under, 64 to make the cut at 2-under. The Epson Tour veteran improved her score by 14 shots overnight, giving herself a chance heading into the final round.

The leaderboard remains packed, with six players at 6-under tied in the top three, promising a dramatic final round for the title, $250,000 purse, Pure Michigan Cup points and crucial Race to the Card points toward LPGA dreams.
