Low scores were all over the course in the second round of the Central Florida Championship, with 14 players turning in rounds of 67 or better. Three players share the lead after 36 holes of play at 10-under and with a realistic chance of breaking the 54-hole scoring record of 13-under set in 2019 by Kelly Tan. Juliana Hung, Agathe Laisne and Matilda Castren will battle it out for their second career Epson Tour title while seven other players sit within two shots of the lead, trying to add a trophy to their collection.

Hung and Laisne will be in the final group come Sunday, while Castren will tee it up with Isabella Fierro, who will also be searching for her second career Epson Tour victory.

Hung carded one of the joint low rounds of the day, turning in a 7-under 65, making it her best score since her pair of 64’s, which helped her secure a victory at the 2024 IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. The day consisted of eight birdies and a bogey for the 23-year-old who surprised herself after her play in round two.

“I went really well. I did birdie on the first and then went on and did three birdies in a row at a moment,” explained Laisne. “It was great. I was playing good golf, making putts.”

Laisne and Castren posted rounds of 66 and 67, respectively, but the low round and good play has extra meaning to Castren, who has been struggling as of late. The Finn is playing in her first Epson Tour event this week since 2021 after spending the last four years on the LPGA Tour. An uncharacteristic 2024 season resulted in Castren having to go to the Final Stage of LPGA Q-Series, where she earned dual status on the Epson and LPGA Tour for 2025. Now, it seems she has found her game that got her to the LPGA Tour, and she feels the hard work she has put in is paying off.

“It feels, honestly, a little bit emotional. I've had a couple tough years and haven't been in this position in a while, and I'm just really, honestly, really thankful to be playing the way I am,” said Castren. “I've been working really hard to get my game back and finally feeling a little more comfortable out there playing, so just really thankful to be in the position that I am.”

The final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. local time off of hole one with the leaders set to tee off at 1:10 p.m. local time.
