The second stint in the West Coast Swing is set to get underway on Thursday as the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA heads into their first 72-hole event of the season. Here are three things to know about the 2025 Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson:

Inaugural Playing of the Championship

The Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson entered the 2025 schedule as an addition to the West Coast Swing. Spanish Trail Country Club is the host course for the inaugural playing, with the field of 132 taking on the Canyon and Lakes Courses. The Club is a 27-hole facility that the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Women’s Golf Team calls home and hosted the PGA Las Vegas Invitational for five years.

The tournament boasts a $250,000 purse with the winner of the event earning 500 Race for the Card points and $37,500. It will also be the first of back-to-back 72-hole events on the Epson Tour, making for a change of pace from the normal 54-hole format.

Two Sponsor Exemptions with Tournament Ties

Carly Cox Pruette and Brigitte Thibault will tee it up this week at the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson as the Sponsor Exemptions.

Both athletes have a unique tie to the tournament – starting with Cox Pruette, who serves as an ambassador for Reliance Matrix. The Epson Tour veteran joined the Tour in 2020 and has had several top finishes since her rookie season. The 28-year-old had her best season in 2023, finishing No. 35 in the Race for the Card and collecting three top-10 finishes. During her 2023 campaign, Cox Pruette also recorded her best career finish with a T2 result at the 2023 Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout.

Brigitte Thibault competed in her first full season on the Epson Tour in 2024, making nine cuts in 18 starts. The highlight of the season was a T17 result at the Casella Golf Championship, which historically is one of the toughest venues on the schedule. Thibault’s history with the Spanish Trail Country Club dates back to her college days when she was competing with Fresno State University. In her senior season, Thibault finished the Rebel Beach Classic, hosted by Spanish Trail Country Club, at 4-under after three rounds to earn medalist honors for the event.

Two UNLV Grads Return to their Home Course

Dana Fall and Nicole Lorup will be returning to their old stomping grounds when they tee it up on Thursday. Both players competed at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and at one point called Spanish Trail Country Club home.

Lorup finished up her rookie season on the Epson Tour in 2024, ending the year at No. 77 in the Race for the Card, a solid start to her professional career. In 2025, the Dane has made three of four cuts to start her year and is currently No. 62 in the Race for the Card.

Fall, on the other hand, is a veteran out on Tour. The 32-year-old has spent time on both the LPGA and Epson Tour, winning once while competing on the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA at the 2016 Dream First Bank Charity Classic. Fall is currently No. 15 in the Race for the Card, putting her in prime position to regain full LPGA Tour status.
