The Epson Tour heads to one of the final two events of the season in El Dorado, Ark., for the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout, which will be played at the Mystic Creek Golf Club, with the tenth edition of the tournament taking place from September 19-21. Arkansas and LSU Alumnae Hold Strong at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout

In this year’s playing of the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout, four local college graduates are teeing it up. Julia Gregg and Cory Lopez are in familiar soil and a short drive away from their alma mater, the University of Arkansas, while two former Louisiana State University athletes join them in the field. Notably representing the LSU Tigers is current No. 13 in the Race for the Card standings, Carla Tejedo Mulet. Former Razorback Julia Gregg is ranked No. 33 in the Race for the Card and is coming off a top-10 finish last week in Prattville, Ala., at the Guardian Championship.

An Epson and LPGA Tour Veteran Returns after Cancer Battle

The Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout will be the first Epson Tour event in which Kim Kaufman will tee it up since her hiatus from golf when she focused on more important things, her overall health and well-being. Kaufman was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2024, and after nearly a seven-month process, she is happy to report she is healthy again and excited for her return to competitive golf. The Epson Tour veteran has competed in three renditions of the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout, with her best finish being T13 in 2023. Kaufman is eager to compete, especially on a golf course she knows so well. This event is not only her first Epson Tour event of the season, but it is also preparation for her to compete in the LPGA Qualifying Series, a few short months away. Make sure to keep an eye out for Kim and her inspiring return this week in El Dorado, Ark.

The Stakes are Higher Than Ever this Week

The Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout marks the last tournament in which athletes can better their rankings and get exempt from the Pre-Qualifying stage of the LPGA Qualifying Series later this season. This event also happens to be tied for the second-highest purse of the season at a grand total of $300,000, with the champion taking home $45,000. With only two tournaments left, every point counts in the Race for the Card. A win or top finish could make for an even more exciting Epson Tour Championship in Indian Wells, Calif., as it’s still anyone’s game in the race to earn Player of the Year and Gaelle Truet Rookie of the Year honors.
