The Epson Tour begins its final stretch of events in Prattville, Ala., with only three more chances to tee it up and make moves in the Race for the Card rankings. The Guardian Championship will be played at the RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill, with the eighth edition of the tournament taking place from September 12-14. Alabama Alumnae Hold Strong at the Guardian Championship

In this year’s playing of the Guardian Championship, seven local college graduates are teeing it up. Megan Schofill and Kaleigh Telfer are a short one-hour drive away from their alma mater, Auburn University, while five former University of Alabama athletes join them in the field. Notably representing the Crimson Tide is Huntsville, Ala., native and sponsor exemption Michaela Morard. Former War Eagle Megan Schofill is ranked No. 17 in the Race for the Card and is looking for a top finish this week to boost her into the coveted top 15 as the season is coming to a close.

New Race for the Card Leader Playing

The Guardian Championship will be the first event in which Yana Wilson will tee it up as the leader in the season-long Race for the Card. The Epson Tour rookie earned her second professional win at the Dream First Bank Charity Classic, marking her ninth top-10 finish of the year. If Wilson is able to hold onto the No.1 spot through the end of the season, she would be the first athlete to earn both Player of the Year and Gaelle Truett Rookie of the Year honors since Madelene Sagstrom in 2016.

Who Will Be the Next to Three Wins in 2025?

A unique opportunity lies ahead for three athletes this week, and that’s the chance to become the second athlete to win for a third time in 2025, joining Gina Kim in accomplishing the impressive feat. There have been 12 different champions, and five countries represented among those winners. Riley Smyth, Briana Chacon, and Yana Wilson each have two wins this season, and with only three tournaments left, every point counts in the Race for the Card. Another win could make for an even more exciting Epson Tour Championship in Indian Wells, Calif., as it’s still anyone’s game in the race to earn Player of the Year honors.
