The Epson Tour begins its Midwest stretch in Battle Creek, Mich. this week with the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship. It’s the eighth tournament of the 2025 season, just two events away from hitting the halfway point. So far, the season has been full of exciting finishes and intense competition, so fans should expect the same during the Midwest swing. Here are three things to know about the 2025 FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship:

Tournament Information

The 12th playing of the tournament will take place from June 6-8 at Battle Creek Country Club. The purse has increased from $200,000 awarded in 2024 to $225,000 in 2025, with the winner now taking home $33,750 on Sunday.

Only one athlete in the field is eligible to hoist a second FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship trophy, and that is the People’s Republic of China’s Siyun Liu. Liu won the tournament in 2023, claiming the title with a 10-under score. In it’s 12 year history, the tournament has not yet seen an athlete win twice.

General admission to the tournament is free.

U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally Participants are Teeing it Up

Seven of the 15 Epson Tour athletes who qualified for this year’s U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally have made the journey from Erin, Wisc. to Battle Creek, Mich. for the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship. Of those seven, Sophie Hausmann earned the best result, finishing the tournament in a tie for 45th at 8-over.

The German is no stranger to Battle Creek Country Club, teeing it up every year since her rookie debut in 2020. She’s seen highs and lows throughout the year, with a best score of -7 and worst of +15, proving that the track is a good test for athletes trying to play on the biggest stage in women’s golf.

The Tournament Kicks Off the Pure Michigan Cup

New in 2025, the three tournaments hosted in Michigan, in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, created the Pure Michigan Cup, awarding athletes with bonus money in addition to the three tournament purses. In total, an extra $20,000 will be split by three athletes based on a cumulative points system that mirrors the Epson Tour’s season-long Race for the Card.

The catch? To be eligible to earn a share of the $20,000, athletes must compete in all three tournaments – the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, Great Lakes Championship and Island Resort Championship.
