The event marks the first tournament past the midway point of the season, making every tournament and every point in the Race for the Card more crucial. Riley Smyth overtook the No. 1 spot in the Race for the Card after her T21 finish at the Island Resort Championship presented by Delta County Chamber. The 25-year-old closed the gap on Gina Kim after her win at the Great Lakes Championship at the Highlands presented by Johnnie Walker, eventually overtaking the top spot when Kim missed her first cut of the season last week. The gap between the pair is 11.950 points, and with both athletes teeing it up this week at the Otter Creek Championship presented by Case Construction, the lead could grow or switch once again.

Melanie Green moved into the top 10 after her win at the Island Resort Championship, becoming the second rookie to win this season, joining No. 3, Yana Wilson. Green also took home the inaugural Pure Michigan Cup for her stellar play during her time in the Mitten State. The 23-year-old also joined the 1,000-point club in the Race for the Card, marking a significant step toward earning her LPGA Tour card for the first time.

One of the biggest jumps came from Epson Tour veteran Haylee Harford. Harford had her best result of the season last week in Harris, Mich., finishing third. She has made six of 10 cuts this season, with the finish moving her up 24 spots to No. 29. Another strong finish would move Harford even closer to a coveted top 15 spot, sitting just 195.854 points behind No. 15.
