The fourth playing of the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic is set to begin in Pendleton, Ore., on Friday, August 15^th, at Wildhorse Golf Course. The 137-player field is comprised of an array of Oregon college and university graduates, as well as athletes native to the area.

There are five University of Oregon alumnae in the field this week, including Briana Chacon, Cynthia Lu, Minori Nagano, Kathleen Scavo, and Alexis Phadungmartovoakul. Briana Chacon has had a standout sophomore season on the Epson Tour, collecting two wins at the Casella Golf Championship and the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa. Chacon has played consistently all season, making 15-15 cuts, which helped her already clinch her LPGA Tour card for the 2026 season.

Cynthia Lu, Minori Nagano, and Briana Chacon’s playing time overlapped during their time at the University of Oregon. Chacon and Lu both received All-American honors during their college careers as they were a part of the 2022 team that finished runner-up at the NCAA National Championships. Alexis Phadungmartovoakul and Kathleen Scavo competed on the same team in the 2018 and 2019 seasons; both received All-American Scholar honors in the 2018 season.

Britney Yada is a long-time veteran of the Official Qualifying Tour for the LPGA who competed collegiately at Portland State University. Yada has had seven career top ten finishes on the Epson Tour and one win at the 2022 Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout. This season has been a bit of a struggle for Yada, only making seven of 11 cuts, but keep an eye out as she looks to get her golf game back on track in a familiar setting, having competed in the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic since its inaugural year.

Ellie Slama is not only an Oregon State University alumna but also a native of Salem, Ore. Slama is 26 years old and first joined the Epson Tour in 2023 after finishing her five-year Oregon State career in the 2021-22 season with a career scoring average of 72.95, the best in Oregon State history. Slama holds a handful of Oregon State University women’s golf records, but has had a troublesome professional career. The Salem native is looking forward to a week as close to home as she will get during the Epson Tour season to reignite that spark she needs to finish off the season on a high note.

Therese Warner is the most local player in the field this week, growing up in Kennewick, Wash., only a short one-hour drive from Wildhorse Golf Course. Warner is a 23-year-old who first joined the Epson Tour in 2023. She spent the 2019-2021 seasons at the University of Arizona and is known for her iconic moment during the 2021 NCAA Championships, where she chipped in for a birdie on the final hole to help Arizona advance to match play.
