INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — For Isabella Fierro, the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells marks what could be one of the biggest weeks of her young professional golf career.

Currently sitting at 15th in the Race for the Card standings heading into the final week of the 2025 Epson Tour season, the 24-year-old is displaying a surprising level of composure considering what’s at stake for her at the season finale.

A good performance would send Fierro back to the LPGA Tour to once again compete against the best in the world. But a missed cut could move her outside of the coveted top 15 and send her to the final stage of LPGA Q-Series in December.

However, no matter how she finishes in Indian Wells, Calif., Fierro’s dreams of playing on the LPGA Tour in 2026 remain alive, but a strong showing at the season finale could make her off-season just a little bit longer.

“It's definitely a big week. I feel like I've been doing things pretty steady, pretty consistent. I've built up my process until now, so I feel actually very calm,” said Fierro. “I was telling my mom that I don't feel like it's a tournament. I feel very chill, very calm. I think the views help a lot here to distract your brain from the actual week, but I think I'm just going to keep doing my process and my thing, and it's going to turn out well.”

The former Oklahoma State University Cowgirl is no stranger to chasing her dream of playing on the LPGA Tour. Fierro’s rookie season on the biggest stage in women’s golf was in 2024 after she finished ninth on the 2023 Epson Tour Money List. Fierro had a stellar 2023 Epson Tour season, making 18 of 22 cuts as a rookie, securing seven top 10s, firing a career-low round of 62 and earning her first professional career win at the Tuscaloosa Classic.

After struggling on the LPGA Tour in her rookie year, only making six cuts in 23 starts, Fierro found herself back on the Epson Tour in 2025, searching for a much-needed confidence boost.

But no matter what circuit she is playing on, Fierro always tries to take advantage of being a role model for all the young girls who want to eventually walk in her shoes. And her overall mission remains the same – make Mexico proud and show the next generation that dreams are obtainable with hard work and determination.

“I think it's such a privilege to be out here on the Epson Tour, LPGA, and how we get to inspire young generations coming up, and little girls want to be here someday,” said Fierro. “I love talking to them and being like, ‘Hey, if you really want this, it can happen. Just dream big, keep working hard.’ It's so cool being out here every single week, and I feel very, very lucky.”

The Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico native takes that goal very seriously and is looking to get back to representing Mexico on the biggest stage in women’s golf next year. She’s one of two athletes playing for Mexico at the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells, along with Maria Fassi, emphasizing for Fierro how much she needs to be an inspiration to the little girls who look up to her.

“It means a lot in the end. Any opportunity you get to play on the LPGA and get up there with the best players in the world, it's such a privilege,” said Fierro. “It will mean the world to me, to my family, to my team and to Mexico, of course, and you don't get to see that a lot. We don't have a lot of Mexican players on the LPGA. So, I'm very proud of what we've achieved so far.”

Fierro leans on fellow Epson Tour graduate and Mexico native Lorena Ochoa for wisdom as she navigates the rollercoaster that is professional golf, a mentorship that most golfers would dream of having. And one of the reminders that Ochoa often gives Fierro is that everyone’s path is different, which is made evident by the numerous LPGA Tour champions who have once come from the Road to the LPGA.

“It's crazy about golf that everybody's journey is so different,” said Fierro. “You have Lilia Vu, who came from the LPGA back to the Epson Tour, and then she won here three or four times, and she's now back on the LPGA. She's a major champion. You have pretty much every kind of history, so it's just really cool that the girl you're teeing off with on a Saturday could be the next major champion.

“It’s really exciting that everybody has their own story and there's not a perfect path. Lorena has been telling me every single day, ‘You're building your own story, you're building your own path.’ The thing that aligns with everybody is we get to play on these beautiful golf courses, but at the end, it's your way to do things, and that's what is so special.”
