The 2025 Casella Golf Championship, the longest-running event on the Epson Tour, returns for its 41st edition at Pinehaven Country Club, widely regarded as one of the toughest courses players will face all season. Following a dominant performance at the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship presented by Munich Re, Gina Kim has begun to distance herself from the field in the Race for the Card standings.

Although only one new player entered the top 15 following Hartford, there was notable movement within the leaderboard. Gina Kim reclaimed the No. 1 position after capturing her third win of the season, creating a 225-point cushion over second-place Melanie Green. Although it is not confirmed, Kim now appears well on her way to securing an LPGA Tour card through the Race for the Card, just as she did in 2022.

The only new entrant to the top 15 was Valery Plata, whose T19 finish in Hartford propelled her into contention. After missing the cut in her previous two starts before Hartford, Plata rebounded impressively, building on a strong season that already includes two T11 finishes and a third-place result. Having narrowly missed earning her LPGA card in 2024, finishing 17th, Plata is now within striking distance of a return to the LPGA Tour.

The biggest leap, however, came from rookie Camille Boyd. The 22-year-old fired a final-round 1-under 71 to notch a career-best T2 finish. This standout performance, combined with two solid showings in her recent starts, has catapulted Boyd up the rankings. She now sits just three spots outside the top 15, making the remainder of the season all the more critical for the Washington native.
