Hurricane, Utah, lived up to its name during the final round of the Copper Rock Championship, with the 70 players who made the cut having to battle through 25+ mile per hour winds throughout the day. Copper Rock Golf Course played tougher than it has all week, with only three players in the last five groups able to break par. One of the three was Gina Kim, who carded a 3-under 69 to claim the 2025 Copper Rock Championship.

Kim started the day in the penultimate group but made her move to the top of the leaderboard early. The now three-time Epson Tour champion rolled in three birdies in four holes to start her day, putting her within one of the lead just one hour after teeing off. Six pars followed before the next circle made the way to Kim’s scorecard, with back-to-back birdies coming at holes 11 and 12.

She then held the solo lead by three shots over the next closest competitor, but the tournament was far from over. A few missteps on the way in on holes 15 and 18 resulted in bogeys for the veteran, with rookies Melanie Green and Carla Tejedo Mulet applying pressure down the stretch.

“I think just being able to really enjoy all that pressure and all those nerves really helped me just settle down and still do my routine even in the midst of all of that,” explained Kim. “It was fun today. I loved battling it out.”

Tejedo Mulet was tied for the lead after a birdie on 17, and Green was one shot back as they headed to 18 tee. An arrant tee shot from Tejedo Mulet resulted in a bogey, while Green hit her approach to six feet for a birdie chance. Green lined up her putt and looked confident standing over the ball, but a pushed putt resulted in a par and Gina Kim’s victory in Hurricane.

“I just came out here to put my best foot forward and put some good work in, and it's nice to see my four-week stretch come out with a dub, so it's been nice.” Said Kim.

The Epson Tour heads into a two-week break before going north for the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship as the beginning of a three-week Michigan Swing.
