After a thrilling 18 holes of play at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa, the Epson Tour has crowned a new champion for the 2025 season. Briana Chacon started the day two shots behind the 36-hole leader, Hailee Cooper, who was in search of her first Epson Tour victory. Chacon carded a 6-under 66 to win her second career Epson Tour victory, adding to her win at the 2024 Atlantic Beach Classic presented by Access Golf.

The final round started off clean for the now two-time champion, making three pars to start the round before going on a tear in her closing six holes on the front nine to put herself into contention at the turn. Five birdies in the last six holes moved Chacon to 11-under for the tournament and into a tie for the lead.

A bogey followed shortly after the barrage of birdies, with Chacon dropping her first shot of the day on hole 10. A bounce-back birdie came on the par-four 12th before she dropped another shot on the par-three 15th.

Entering the last three holes, Chacon was one shot behind Megan Schofill, the clubhouse leader. She only needed to make one birdie over the last few holes, and the pressure was on. The 23-year-old answered with a birdie on the gettable par-five 16th and then followed it up with another birdie on the par-three 17th after sticking it close. Chacon headed into 18 with a one-shot lead and hit two solid shots, hitting the middle of the fairway and the middle of the green. The two-putt was all she needed to seal her second career victory on the Epson Tour.

"It feels great. It's a huge honor. Just been trying to get the first win of the season, you know, trying to live up to last season. It was a great week and I'm super, super excited," explained Chacon after her victory. "I'm just going to take this win as momentum, build off this confidence that I have this week, and keep going and just keep finishing strong. Most of all, just try to finish strong at the end of the year."

Rookie Megan Schofill applied pressure late to Chacon. Schofill made her first Epson Tour start this week at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa and nearly won. Playing with nothing to lose, the 23-year-old made three birdies in her last four holes to take the solo lead for a brief time. The top-10 finish does earn Schofill a spot in the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson next week, giving her another chance at an early win in her professional career.

With the win, Chacon moves to No. 2 in the 2025 Race for the Card, putting her in prime position to earn her LPGA Tour card for the first time. She will have a chance to become the first back-to-back winner next week at the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson since Jenny Bae in 2023 at the Harford HealthCare Women's Championship and Casella Golf Championship.
