The LPGA Qualifying Series’ Qualifying Stage had picture-perfect weather for round two, and athletes followed with near-perfect scores. The field of 197 athletes flip-flopped playing pitches for the day, with half playing on the Panther Course and the other half on the Bobcat Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. The conclusion of Thursday afternoon marked the halfway point for athletes as they all prepare to play the final two rounds for the chance to post a top 45 finish to advance to the Final Qualifying Stage of LPGA Q-Series come Saturday evening.

Anna Nordfors jumpstarted the morning wave, posting a professional career low 9-under on the Panther Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club. Nordfors started off strong with a birdie on her first hole, followed by another on the par-4 5th. The University of Central Florida alumni got into her groove with three consecutive under-par holes: a birdie on eight, an eagle on nine, and a birdie on 10.

“I've felt, actually, all season long, that I’ve been hitting the ball pretty good. I've been putting okay, but haven't been able to get the ones to drop. This round felt really, really nice to get going, and I just try to not think too much and try to be present in the moment. It feels really great to have this one done for sure,” commented Nordfors.

The Sweden native found her second eagle of the day on the par-5 13th hole, followed by a birdie on the par-4 14th. Nordfors, heading into her final stretch bogey-free, lost focus on 17 tee, hitting a wayward tee shot. However, she refocused to save par and finish her round with a clean scorecard and post a 9-under 63 to sit in a tie for the lead with Mirabel Ting.

“Just trying to see this as a normal week out on the Epson Tour. I've been prepping the same way. So I've tried to see it as just another week and not put too much pressure on myself. But obviously it's an important week for a lot of us, so I just try not to put too much pressure on myself, but still I know it's important, so every shot really, really counts,” said Nordfors.

Mirabel Ting, well rested, started the afternoon on a high note, sinking back-to-back birdies on holes one and two on the Bobcat Course. Ting continued her dominance, draining her third birdie in her first four holes on the par-5 4th to round out a 3-under front nine.

“I was hitting a lot better with my driver today. A little bit of confusion on my irons and putting today. Putts didn't drop. Well, it's another day of golf, but I'm quite happy with how I played today and how patient I stayed on the golf course,” said Ting.

The 2025 ANNIKA Award recipient ultimately signed for a 4-under 68 to keep her in a tie for the lead heading into moving day, with her sister as caddie this week.

Ting expressed, “She's a pretty good caddy, actually. I said yesterday, she kept me really calm. Today as well. I was much calmer than yesterday. But yeah, just love having her on a golf course.”

2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion, Carla Bernat Escuder, cleaned up her golf game this morning, posting a bogey-free 67 to climb the leaderboard. The professional rookie, unfamiliar with the LPGA Q-Series, stuck to her game plan during round two, walking to her second tee box of the day at 1-under par after finding a birdie on hole 10. Bernat Escuder then eased into her front nine before making birdies on holes 16 and 18 to head to her back nine after a bogey-free 3-under front side.

“I was really consistent. I hit eighteen out of eighteen greens, and I just hit the ball where I needed to hit it,” said Bernat Escuder.

The Spaniard continued her consistent play, finding two more birdies on holes four and nine to sign for an unblemished scorecard of 5-under, heading into round three in a tie for tenth with eight other athletes.

Bernat Escuder commented, “It's what I've been working for my whole life. I want to play here in the States, and I want to get to the best level. I want to be the best player I can, so getting the LPGA Tour card this year would be amazing. If I don't, it means that I'm not ready. You know, it's it is what it is, but I'm feeling good. Let's see if I can keep it going.”

Emma Spitz and Annie Kim are in a tie for third at 8-under total through 36 holes. Spitz made a statement with a 7-under 65 to climb 37 spots on the leaderboard, ready for a stellar third round on Friday. Annie Kim continued strong play, firing a 3-under 69 to keep herself within two shots of co-leaders Anna Nordfors and Mirabel Ting.

Malia Nam and Megan Osland sit in a tie for fifth place at 7-under, rounding out the top five. The third round will begin on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. local time. Follow along with live scoring here.
