After round one of the Paris Olympics, former and current Epson Tour members were out in full force. Seven of the top 12 after 18 holes of play have Epson Tour ties, including three current members. 2017 graduate Celine Boutier leads the way after a spectacular 7-under 65 in her home country.

Mariajo Uribe, who has played on the LPGA and Epson Tours leading up to the 2024 Olympics, is playing in her last competitive event this week in Paris. Her strong start, signing for a 2-under 70 in her opening round, puts her in a tie for third with three other competitors. The 34-year-old got off to a hot start in round one, making three birdies in her first four holes and eventually turning at 1-under. This is Uribe's third appearance in the Olympics, but there is a different feeling this year, and she is looking to improve on her T19 performance from four years ago in Tokyo. Her potential for a strong farewell performance is a source of hope and excitement for her fans.

"This is my third Olympics, but Paris feels different," Uribe said following her opening round. "The atmosphere is unbelievable. Watching the guys finish on Sunday was great. The crowds are amazing. I'm not a part of the Solheim Cup, but this is probably the closest I'm going to get. The course is unbelievable."

Diksha Dagar and Alena Sharp also opened their Olympic performance on a good note, sharing seventh at 1-under with six other athletes. This is Dagar's second Olympic appearance and Sharp's third. Both athletes have tested their game against Epson Tour athletes in 2024, with Dagar recording two top performances in two starts early in the season. The India native carded three birdies and two bogeys on the day, showcasing her competitive spirit. Meanwhile, the 43-year-old Sharp's front nine consisted of two bogeys, but the Canadian rallied with three birdies on the back to put herself in contention, demonstrating her resilience and competitive drive.

Malaysia's Ashley Lau sits outside the top 12 but is still in contention. The Epson Tour sophomore signed for an opening round 72 and is in a share of 13th with reigning Gold Medalist Nelly Korda and 12 others. The 24-year-old University of Michigan alum is playing in her first ever Olympics and proved she belongs on the big stage early on with a promising start, making the audience feel optimistic and hopeful about her performance in the upcoming rounds.
