Savannah Vilaubi
Vilaubi is in prime position entering the second half of the season to secure her LPGA Tour card for the 2024 season. Vilaubi currently sits fifth in the Race for the Card standings, with a win and four top-10 finishes under her belt in 2023. After winning the Copper Rock Championship, the 29-year-old hit a small bump in the road, finishing outside the top 40 in three straight events before finding her groove again during the Michigan swing. As she heads into the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship, the T3 at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship and the 6th place finish at the Island Resort Championship were Vilaubi’s two best finishes outside her victory in Utah. With two top finishes in her two previous starts, the Epson Tour champion will try and add another trophy to her collection this week in Connecticut.
Hira Naveed
Naveed has had a steady start to the first half of her season. The Australian has played in 10 events during the 2023 season, only missing one cut in those 10 starts. Naveed has found a hot streak over her last three starts, recording two top-10 finishes and only posting two over-par rounds in that stretch. Naveed’s last start at the Island Resort Championship was a 5th-place finish, her best placing of the season, and she posted her best round of the season with a 67 in her second round. She will look to take advantage of her recent good play and post another top finish as she hunts down a spot in the top 10 to end the year.
Alena Sharp
Sharp has the most professional experience out of anyone in the field this week at the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship. The 19-year LPGA Tour veteran has proven why she has played at the highest level for nearly 20 years, with five cuts made in five starts and a victory at the Champions Fore Change Invitational. In her last three Epson Tour starts Sharp has not finished outside the top 10. Despite only making five starts so far, the Canadian is No. 8 in the Race for the Card standings and currently holds the tour’s best scoring average at 69.529. Sharp has also posted three sub-66 rounds in her last nine rounds on the Epson Tour as she looks to make her way back to full LPGA Tour status for the 2024 season.
