The Inova Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship is entering its fourth year as an Epson Tour event, but it already boasts a great list of champions. Check out how each former champion has been doing since their win at El Campeón Golf Course.
Gina Kim (2022)
The most recent champion, Gina Kim, had dual status on the LPGA and Epson tours during her 2022 season. After winning the Epson Tour in 2022, Kim would play eight more events on the official qualifying tour of the LPGA, making every single cut and only finishing outside the top 20 twice in those eight events. The impressive stretch of events was good enough to get the former Duke University Blue Devil into the Race for the Card Top 10 and full status on the LPGA Tour in 2023. So far in her 2023 season, Kim has made four of her six cuts and currently sits at No. 90 on the Race to the CME Globe, with the top-100 retaining strong status on the LPGA Tour. In her first full season with the LPGA Tour, Kim shows she belongs to the world’s best.
Min Lee (2021)
Min Lee has had an impressive career playing on the Epson and LPGA tours. The 27-year-old turned professional when she was 19 and has had status on either the LPGA Tour or Epson Tour ever since. Lee has collected three wins on the Epson Tour, including her win at the Inova Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship. After her win in 2021, Lee represented Chinese Taipei at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Lee has since spent the last two years on the LPGA Tour but has a dual status for the 2023 season. In her most recent start on the LPGA Tour, Lee had a top 20 finish at the Cognizant Founders Cup and moved her way into the CME Globe top-100 at No. 89.
Matilda Castren (2020)
Of the three champions, Matilda Castren has had the most success on the LPGA Tour in her career. The Finn has won the 2021 LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship, represented Finland in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and represented Team Europe in the 2021 Solheim Cup. Castren has six more top-10 finishes in her career to accompany her win and impressive international accomplishments. In the 2023 season, she has only missed two cuts in eight starts and is currently No. 67 on the CME Rankings. Castren will look to pick up her second career LPGA Tour victory when the LPGA Tour heads to Las Vegas for the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play presented by MGM Rewards.
