Auston Kim
Kim started her journey on the Epson Tour in 2022. The Vanderbilt University alumna recorded four cuts in 12 starts in her rookie season. However, the 2023 season has been a different story for Kim – in the five events played; she has made the cut in four, already matching her total from last year. Of those four cuts made, the 22-year-old has three top-10 finishes and currently sits at No.18 in the Race for the Card standings. Kim is making her first appearance at the Garden City Charity Classic this week, but do not expect it to affect her game. All three of Kim’s top-10 finishes this year are at tournaments she has never played in. So watch for her name near the top of the leaderboard this weekend.
Robyn Choi
Robyn Choi has had a solid start to her 2023 campaign. The Australian has not missed a cut this season and seems to be improving each week. Choi has played in all five events, finishing T46, T29, T31, T27, and T14. Now Choi is heading into a tournament with which she has a good past, making the cut in her first two appearances in Garden City. Last year’s T9 finish at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course was one of six top-10 finishes in 2022 for the University of Colorado grad. So with her game trending in the right direction and solid past appearances, look out for Robyn Choi this week in Garden City.
Britney Yada
Coming off her best year on the Epson Tour in 2022, which included her first career Epson Tour victory, Britney Yada has had a solid start to her 2023 season. Yada has already rattled off three top-15 finishes to start the year and is building off her great season last year. The Hawaiian is making her third appearance at the Garden City Charity Classic at Buffalo Dunes and will lean on her past experience to help her throughout the week. A strong finish this week could bump Yada into contention in the Race for the Card and help secure a LPGA Tour card once again.
