Gigi Stoll
An instrumental piece to the University of Arizona’s women’s golf national championship team in 2018, Gigi Stoll is one of four former Wildcats in the Casino Del Sol Golf Classic field. She earned a season-best finish in 2021 of outright third place in the inaugural edition of this tournament at Sewailo Golf Club. Stoll is coming off back-to-back top-30 results including a tied for 30th showing at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. Sewailo is home to the UA men’s and women’s golf teams, so look for Stoll to use her experience on the Notah Begay III-designed course to her advantage.
Roberta Liti
Last week in Beaumont on Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon, Roberta Liti raced out to an 8-under par total after two rounds for the lowest 36-hole score of her Epson Tour career since the 2021 Casino Del Sol Golf Classic when she shot 9-under 135 (which she also recorded at the 2020 Symetra Classic). She went on to finish in a tie for sixth last year at Sewailo. Liti is an Arizona State University alumna and knows desert golf, having won the 2017 PING/ASU Invitational individual title for the Sun Devils at the now-defunct Karsten Golf Course.
Kum-Kang Park
Of her 10 competitive rounds on the Epson Tour in 2022, Kum-Kang Park has recorded nine under-par rounds. The strong start to the season has led her to No. 1 on the Race for the Card money list. Park won the season-opening Florida’s Natural Charity Classic then followed her second Epson Tour victory with a tied for fifth showing at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, which included a final-round 64. Last week, Park claimed a tied for 14th result and comes to Pima County primed for a second win this season.
