MOBILE, Ala. – With the LPGA and Epson Tour on break until the start of the 2023 season, all eyes shift to 2022 LPGA Q-Series taking place in Lower Alabama. The two-week, eight-round tournament serves as a steppingstone to the LPGA Tour and begins at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Ala. from Dec. 1-4.
One hundred individuals will compete in a 144-hole stroke-play format, with scores being cumulative over the two weeks. Play will start at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Ala. and conclude at Highland Oaks Golf Course in Dothan, Ala. There will be a cut to the top 70 players and ties after week one.
Players competing this week range from ages 18-34 and include qualifiers from Stage II, LPGA Tour Members ranked between Nos. 101 and 150 in the 2022 Race to the CME Globe, Epson Tour members ranked between Nos. 11 and 35 on the 2022 Official Money List, players ranked Nos. 1 through 10 on the Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit, and players ranked within the top 75 of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as of Aug. 8, 2022.
“It feels great coming into Q-Series after a strong finish at Stage II,” said Becca Huffer, one of the Stage II co-medalists. “I plan on bringing the same mindset I had at Stage II into these weeks having extra confidence knowing my game is in a good place and just trusting it.”
“It feels great to be back at Q-Series,” said Bailey Tardy, who finished her 2022 season at No. 11 on the Epson Tour’s Official Money List. “Coming off the season being one [spot on the money list] off my card is still in the back of my mind and is fueling me to play well this week. I’ve worked so hard to be here and I hope it pays off the next couple weeks.”
Top players at the end of week two will earn 2023 LPGA Tour Membership. Status that will be earned from the next two weeks is as follows:
- Players finishing in positions 1-20 and ties earn LPGA Tour status in category 14
- Players finishing in positions 12-45 and ties earn LPGA Tour status in category 15 and Epson Tour status in category C
- Players finishing outside the top-45 and ties, who complete all rounds before the cut, will earn Epson Tour status
