EL DORADO, ARKANSAS – The 108-player field for the seventh Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout has been finalized by the Epson Tour. The “Road to the LPGA” is in week two of its final stretch of the season. Play will happen at the Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas from September 23-25.
Individuals will compete in a 54-hole, stroke-play format for $225,000 and a winner’s share of $33,750. A cut will be made to the top 60 and ties after 36 holes. Admission for the tournament is free.
“Our course and the people in our community are what make our tournament truly unique,” said Tournament Director, Courtney Kelley. “Our course is truly in a class of its own, and it shows each year when tour players descend to our area competing for the title. Additionally, the southern hospitality shown by everyone in our community continues to amaze me. From welcoming players into their homes, to countless hours spent at the course making sure things run smoothly, the people of El Dorado and Union County make this tournament what it is.”
Seven of the top-10 players in the Ascensus Race for the Card will compete for this week’s title, as well as 11 of the 16 2022 champions. The Epson Tour’s most recent winner, Maria Torres, will also tee it up following her first professional career victory at the Guardian Championship.
“I’m going to take next week step by step,” said Torres. “I’m just going through the journey and enjoying every moment. Sometimes we get mad about what happened or what’s going to happen, and we don’t enjoy what we’re living right now.”
Last year’s Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout champion, and 2022 champion, Kum-Kang Park returns to Mystic Creek to defend her title. Sierra Brooks, who placed 5th at the 2021 event and 12th at last week’s Guardian Championship will also compete. Other notable past champions include LPGA Tour members Cydney Clanton, Hannah Green and Madelene Sagstrom.
