Competing in the second to last pairing tomorrow is current No. 1 in the Race for the Card, Lilia Vu (Fountain Valley, California). She sees her name solo third on the leaderboard heading into the final round at 7-under par overall.
“I mean honestly, I came up to the tee box today and really felt no nerves and I felt like it was just another day. I wanted to have fun. I did, and that was the only goal,” said Vu following a second round 3-under 69. “The course is playing different because the greens firmed up a bit. Yesterday on No. 9, I remember I spun my ball all the way back. Not even one shot today spun back, so the greens firmed up pretty quick. They’re super-fast downhill and you want to stay under the pin.”
In her last four starts, Vu has not finished lower than T4. She has three additional top-10 finishes earlier this season, and two wins. The former UCLA Bruin is eager to claim her card early and find her way back onto the global LGPA stage. Tomorrow she will tee off No. 1 with Savannah Vilaubi (Downey, California) at South Bend Country Club at 12:10 pm ET.
