A 4-under par 66 in the second round of the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic moved Rachel Rohanna (Marianna, Pennsylvania) into second place at 7-under overall in Rochester, NY.
“I've been feeling good for the last few weeks now and the longest putt I've made all week so far was a 15-footer and that was for bogey. Other than that I've had a lot of like pretty close birdie putts. Of course I'm going to say I left some out there but I also holed one out from 100 yards so I felt like that was a little nice come back,” said Rohanna.
The two-time Epson Tour Champion has back-to-back top-20 finishes, including a season-best third result in French Lick, Ind. last week at the Donald Ross Classic. Those performances have instilled a confidence that has helped her climb the leaderboard at the 12th “Road to the LPGA” stop.
“Last week was a Donald Ross course as well and I had played there at Big-10s and I played really well then. I hadn't played there since then though so it's been about 10 or 12 years. But I was hitting it well made some good puts and I played great last day,” said Rohanna. “Casey is a great player, she played great the final day, I played good too, but the ball just bounced her way. It was a good tournament last week and looking forward to this week, but I know this is a lot of target golf which usually isn't my game but I'm just going to take it and run with it.”
