After the fourth tournament of the 2021 Epson Tour season, the Race for the Card rankings see some movement thanks to performances at the Copper Rock Championship at Copper Rock Golf Course.
Ruixin Liu (Guangdong, People’s Republic of China) continues to maintain the No. 1 spot iwith the help of two wins this season and earnings of $67,220. Following at No. 2 is Fatima Fernandez Cano (Santiago, Spain), who has three top-10 finishes in four events and season earnings of $34,410.
“It felt great to go out there and put a good round on the board on a very tough day. I started the day with the goal of staying patient and trying to take advantage of the holes I knew I could get after but also being smart on those holes that were playing a bit tougher,” said Fernandez Cano. “Especially the downhill holes, it got really hard to stop the ball on the green. I am glad I could climb some spots and stay up there on the race for my card.”
At No. 3 is Maude-Aimee Leblanc (Sherbrooke, Quebec) following a tied for second finish at the Copper Rock Championship and season earnings of $33,382. Bailey Tardy (Norcross, Georgia) joins the group this week after claiming her first win on the Epson Tour. A winner’s check of $30,000 brings her season earnings to $32,701 and moves her in No. 4 this week.
Checking in at No. 5 Road to the LPGA rookie Sophie Hausmann (Nottuln, Germany) who took home a winner’s check at the IOA Championship of $22,500 in Beaumont, CA and has total earnings $31,483 this season. Haylee Harford (Leavittsburg, Ohio) stays at No. 6 with $22,848 and Sophia Schubert (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) follows at No. 7 with $21,446.
Morgane Metraux (Laussnae, Switzerland) stays in the top-10 this week at No. 8 with $20,344 after a second-place finish earlier this season and Gigi Stoll (Beaverton, Oregon) at No. 9 with $19,394. Completing the group is Samantha Wagner (Windermere, Florida) who finished tied for second in Hurricane, Utah and has season earnings of $19,394.
“I am excited to be in the top 10 on the race for the card after my 2nd place finish at the Copper Rock Championship,” said Wagner. “Finishing in the top 10 is my goal for the season, so I am excited that after my first two events of this year I have put myself in a strong position”
At the end of the season, the top-10 players in the Race for the Card standings will graduate onto the LPGA Tour for the 2022 campaign.
