After the second tournament of the 2021 Epson Tour season, the Race for the Card rankings saw a bit of movement thanks to several strong performances in the sixth annual IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon.

Ruixin Liu (Guangdong, People’s Republic of China) holds the No. 1 spot on the money list following her win at the season-opening event, Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic, and a tied for fifth result in Beaumont, Calif. Right behind the five-time Epson Tour champion at No. 2 is the most recent #Road2LPGA champion Sophie Hausmann (Nottuln, Germany), who took home a winner’s check yesterday of $22,500 to jump to $29,980 in total season earnings.

Joining the top-10 at No. 3 is 2020 Epson Tour graduate Fatima Fernandez Cano (Santiago, Spain) with $24,059. Sophia Schubert (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) checks in at No. 4. She collected $12,835 from her tied for second showing at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort and Spa and has made $19,865 so far this year.

“Seeing my name in the top-five players in the Race for the Card feels great,” said Schubert. “It shows me that by putting in the hard work in the offseason, I can go out, play my game and trust the process.”

Maude-Aimee Leblanc (Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada) rounds out the first half of the top-10 after back-to-back top-25 finishes to begin 2021, including a tie for second last week at Morongo Golf Club. Haylee Harford (Leavittsburg, Ohio) joins the mix at No. 6 with $14,720 and Esther Henseleit (Hamburg, Germany) is not far behind with $12,097.

Thanks to a pair of top-20 finishes over the first two events, Lauren Coughlin (Charlottesville, Virginia) collected $9,256 and sits in No. 8 position. To complete the top-10, Ingrid Gutierrez Nunez (Cuautla, Mexico) and Isi Gabsa (Munich, Germany) have earned $7,387 and $6,907, respectively.

“It means that I am on the right path and that I have to keep working hard and manage my rest days so I can give 100 percent throughout the season,” said Gutierrez Nunez.

At the end of the season, the top-10 players in the Race for the Card standings will graduate onto the LPGA Tour for the 2022 campaign.
