In her third event on the Epson Tour since 2018, Morgane Metraux (Lausanne, Switzerland) is back like she never left. The Florida State University alumna suffered an injury just a few years ago, but after taking time to heal she returned to the Epson Tour and carded a second-round 68 to head into tomorrow tied for first at 9-under par overall.
“A week or two before the 2019 season started, I had some shoulder pain and didn’t think too much of it. I took a little bit of time off and saw some physios. They told me it’s not going to take long, and it will heal pretty quickly,” said Metraux.
“I kept entering every event thinking I would be able to play, after a couple of months doing that, it wasn’t getting better, so I went back home to be with family and see my doctors there. I never got a diagnosis for it so that was the most frustrating part because I didn’t know what it was or how long it would take.”
Not an often occurrence she said, but Metraux has her mother on the bag with her this week. A true golf family, Metraux’s sister Kim earlier this week Monday Qualified into the LPGA Tour’s LOTTE Championship. The sister’s both attended Florida State University and have competed on the Ladies European Tour where Morgane claimed a solo-10th finish last year at The Saudi Ladies International.
“It’s really fun because we are able to share a lot and she understands when I say something about my game and vice versa,” said Metraux. “If we need a little tweak on the range too it’s nice that we can help each other.”
