Last season Ruixin Liu (Guangadong, People’s Republic of China) with back-to-back top-10 finishes, including a win at the FireKeepers Hotel Championship. With her name near the top of the money list, an injury would cut her season short.
“It’s been almost six months for me to play a round of golf. I am really happy with how the treatment went with my foot,” said Liu. “The results allowed me to play today so I am pleased with them. I tried to rest as much as I could since I haven’t walked this much since last September.”
In 2018, Liu claimed twelve top-25 finishes on the “Road to the LPGA,” three of which were wins. She went on to join the 2018 Epson Tour graduating class and earning her LPGA Card. Today, Liu carded a 6-under 66 in the opening round to go into tomorrow tied for second. She hopes to continue on with this momentum not just tomorrow but throughout the season and return to the LPGA Tour stage.
