Frida Kinhult (Fiskebackskil, Sweden) is back at River Run Country Club. Last year, Kinhult fired a 2-under par 70 in the final round to secure the Epson Tour Championship crown for her first professional title.
She shared the Epson Tour Championship lead after both the first and second rounds, before taking command in the third round. This week she is back in Davidson for the tenth annual Epson Classic.
“I think I played No. 3 either three or four under that week so that was a good hole. Other than that, I was nervous the whole last round. Being back here just brings back memories of being nervous and that’s where you want to be. Hopefully, I can be nervous this week again,” said Kinhult. “Packing during this weekend and bringing this courses yardage book, just started a nice vibe. It’s good to be back and play a course you have been before and have good memories, so I am super excited for this week.”
The victory earned the Florida State University alumna LPGA Tour membership for the 2021 season and a spot in the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open field.
“It was the first time I didn’t go home to Sweden during the winter, so it was different, but it was nice. Florida is a little better than Sweden in the winter to practice for golf,” Kinhult said. “It was weird to not see family, but my dad is coming next week, and mom is coming later on, so I will see them here and have them on the bag.”
