Last month at the Island Resort Championship in Harris, Mich., Celine Borge secured a career-best result of solo third. Since then, the Norwegian has finished in a tie for 13th at the Prasco Charity Championship and now sits in a tie for second at 7-under overall with 18 holes to play in the Donald Ross Classic.
Borge made four birdies in the second round on the Donald Ross Course at French Lick Resort, but it was the six consecutive pars to end the day that kept her in the hunt.
“It felt good to hole that last putt [on No. 18]. It was a bad first putt, then a good second putt,” Borge said after a 2-under 69 in round two. “I’d say it was as important as some of the birdies I made today.
“I finished with a very good round at the Island Resort Championship, so it’s nice to see I can play good. I had some good rounds out here this year, but not that good tournament.”
The third-year Epson Tour Member rounds out the final grouping, joining Rachel Rohanna and Casey Danielson.
“It’s really nice to have a chance and I just have to do my best, focus on the shots,” she said.
