The sixth-annual Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic was shortened to 36 holes after a full night and day of rain left the course unplayable. Emma Broze (Nervieux, France) who held a one-stroke lead after two rounds, was named the winner, earning her first Epson Tour victory.
“I can’t thank the staff enough for all the hard work they have put in this week to help us get 36 holes in,” said Broze. “I wish we could have been able to play more but I am happy to get my first win. Also, thank you to Rochester for being such great fans all week. It was great having you out here as well as Mike Vadala for putting on a great tournament.”
The two-time Epson Tour champion, Rachel Rohanna (Marianna, Pensylvania) claimed her season-best of solo second at -7. Lilia Vu (Fountain Valley, California), Min A Yoon (Seoul, People’s Republic of China), and Allison Emrey (Charlotte, North Carolina) tied for third at -6.
Play was initially suspended before any players started their third rounds. The Epson Tour monitored weather conditions all day and course conditions never improved to the point that play could successfully be resumed. The Sunday forecast also calls for more rain and storms in the surrounding areas.
