CHIEN WORKING THROUGH SWING CHANGE

One of three players tied for the lead at 12-under par after 36 holes, Peiyun Chien (Pingtung, Chinese Taipei) heads into the final round of the Epson Classic looking to become a two-time winner. Before looking ahead to Sunday, Chien implemented a last minute swing change that is working in her favor.

“Actually yesterday, I tried to change my backswing. I realized my club position was off. It’s an old problem, but my club is always too far inside,” said Chien. “I just tried very hard to feel what it’s like when I push it outside. It’s pretty weird for me, but I am doing very well. I gave it a try out here and I am going to keep trying it on the LPGA.”

Chien carded a 4-under par performance in the second round, which included five birdies on the back nine. Tomorrow, she will head out for the third round from No. 1 tee at 9:50 a.m. ET.

LITI FINDS EAGLE MID-ROUND

Roberta Liti (Siena, Italy) ended two rounds with a score of 9-under par. Liti went 3-under par this afternoon, highlighted by an eagle, three birdies and two bogeys. She’ll not only be searching for her first win on the Epson Tour this weekend, but also her first top-10 in her career.

“I knew from yesterday that it was going to be much firmer and I would have to play the greens a bit different,” said Liti “It wasn't an easy putt, it was kind of like double breaker but with my caddie, we read the line really well so I hit a good putt and it just went in. I haven't made any eagle in a long time, so it was nice.”

This year, Liti made three cuts of six starts. Her highest finish thus far is tied for twenty-one at the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. This week she has Brandi Rodriguez as her caddie in Daytona Beach in hopes to continue the stride she has had the first two rounds.

“It definitely helps to have someone like Brandi,” Liti said. “She's played out here, so she can definitely help me. She's been very important to just keep me calm and give me the right advise or confirm what I see. It just gives me a little more confidence.”

REDDING KEEPING CONSISTENT

Back-to-back, Anna Redding (Concord, NC), shot 5-under par to go into day three 10-under par. Redding started the day hot with four birdies in a row and with only one bogey throughout the first 36 holes.

“I feel good. I'm proud of myself how I’ve played the past two days,” said Redding. “It's been very consistent; I just been put myself on fairways on the greens and got the ball in the hole quicker. I've been just very solid.”

The University of Virginia alumna is in her rookie season on the “Road to the LPGA.” Not yet missing a cut and already claiming a second-place finish, Redding looks forward to this season’s first four-round event.

“I'm excited play a two more rounds,” said Redding. “I think it helps us prepare for the next level, so I'm really looking forward to it and it's fun to have more rounds to chase down the leaders.”
