The Epson Tour officially announced today that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina will be the official presenting sponsor of the inaugural Carolina Golf Classic. The penultimate stop in the 40th anniversary season takes the “Road to the LPGA” to Pinehurst No. 9 in Pinehurst, N.C., from Oct. 28-31.
“We are excited to conclude the 40th Epson Tour season with back-to-back events in North Carolina,” said Mike Nichols, the Chief Business Officer of the Epson Tour. “We are particularly grateful to organizations like Blue Cross NC, who joined our efforts this year to support our mission of empowering female athletes to pursue their dreams of playing on the LPGA Tour.”
This is the third year Blue Cross NC has supported hundreds of women working to achieve their dreams of playing on the LPGA Tour.
“Empowering women to feel confident, be active, and strong is a priority for Blue Cross NC,” said Reagan Greene Pruitt, vice president of marketing and community engagement at Blue Cross NC. “We’re honored to support all the talented women competing on the Epson Tour and wish them the best of luck.”
An 84-player field will compete for the highest purse of the season in a 72-hole stroke play format with a cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes.
In addition, the Epson Tour will be hosting the Carolina Golf Classic Virtual Executive Women’s Day on Monday, Oct. 26, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. ET. Registration will open this week for the free event. For more information, please contact Bella Koenig at (360) 903-3571.
