REBECCA ARTIS MAKES HOLE-IN-ONE IN PRACTICE ROUND

Rebecca Artis made her second career hole-in-one during a practice round at Brown Deer Park on Tuesday. It was also her second ace of the 2017 season. Her first came during a tournament round at the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Indiana.

Artis used a 6-iron from 160 yards on hole five.

“It never left the pin,” said Artis. “It took three bounces and then went in.”

There was one commonality between the two aces. She was playing in the same group as Catherine O’Donnell. The two played a practice round together on Tuesday in Milwaukee and were paired together during the ace at the Four Winds Invitational.

BUSY WEEK FOR THE DANIELSON FAMILY (OSCEOLA)

Casey Danielson (Osceola, Wis.) will make her Epson Tour debut this week at the PHC Classic, but her parents won’t be making the five hour drive to watch her compete. Instead, they will be heading to the Barracuda Championship on the PGA TOUR where her brother, Charlie, is playing this week.

“They basically split time between me and my brother,” said Casey, who turned professional this year after a very successful career at Stanford. “My brother has been a lot of help as he has had a year of this (professional golf) already. He has been a lot of help with questions on finances, how to get caddies ready and how to travel. It is definitely a lot of fun to be going through this life with a brother doing the same.”

Charlie received an exemption into the Barracuda Championship through Web.com Tour finals. He played college golf at Illinois and then turned professional in 2016. He has made two starts on the Mackenzie Tour this year.

Casey will have Emily Joers as her caddy this week. Joers played college golf at Illinois and is from Waukesha, Wis. and played high school golf at Waukesha West where she was a two-time state champion.

“We grew up playing junior golf together,” said Casey. “It’ll be really fun to catch up with her and have a fun experience. It’ll be fun having someone I’m familiar with on the bag.”
