Two-time Epson Tour winner Olivia Jordan-Higgins (Jersey, U.K.) will take a two-shot lead into the final-round of the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic. She will aim for her third career Epson Tour victory.

“It has been awhile since I have been in contention, it’s going to be interesting, but fun,” said Jordan-Higgins, who last won the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Championship in 2014. “This is what we practice for and what we play for and to be in this position so early in the year is exciting.”

Jordan Higgins backed up an opening round 66 with a Saturday 70 to extend her lead to two over rookie Lindsey Weaver (Bellefontaine, Ohio) and former Epson Tour winner Erica Popson (Davenport, Fla.) who each sit at 6-under par for the week.

“I’ve always struggled out of the gate, I might make the cut, but nothing special so this is what I wanted,” said Jordan-Higgins. “I really can’t ask for much better.”

Weaver had the shot of the day with an ace on the par-3 12th, her third hole of the day. It was the first hole-in-one on the 12th hole at Country Club of Winter Haven.

“I was between a hybrid and a 6-iron from 171 yards and I hit the 6-iron because I didn’t want to be long,” explained Weaver, who graduated from Arizona in May. “I hit it well and it was going right at the pin and then it dissappeared and I thought it went over the green. The girls on the tee were screaming and I heard Emma Talley scream so I knew it went in at that point.”

Popson is the hometown favorite as she grew up a mere 10 miles down the road from Country Club of Winter Haven.

“I’m happy to be here and happy to represent Polk County,” Popson said. “I haven’t done a good job in the past two years so to have a chance to bring some excitement is pretty cool.”

68 players made the cut at 5-over 149.

Final round play will begin Sunday at 8:15 a.m. with the leaders teeing off at 1:45 p.m.

Sunday’s final-round will be broadcast live on the LPGA’s Facebook page (facebook.com/LPGA) from 4-6 p.m. with Amy Rogers, Karen Stupples, Sara Brown and Bailey Mosier on the call.
