Jordan Ontiveros and Ping Huang added to IOA Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., February 5, 2016 -The Epson Tour, Road to the LPGA, announced today that Alamo, California native and former San Jose State golfer Jordan Ontiveros has been added to the field for the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa as one of two sponsor exemptions. The second sponsor exemption is Ping Huang, who moved from Taiwan to California at the age of 16.

The field of 108 professionals will compete for a total tournament purse of $100,000 starting on Friday, February 19. The final round is Sunday, Feb. 21.

Ontiveros, 25, turned professional in 2011 and played in nine events on the Epson Tour in 2013 and 16 events in 2014. Ontiveros won on the Arizona-based Cactus Tour in 2012. She was the 2006 Northern California Golf Association junior champion.

Ontiveros’ popularity on social media has skyrocketed in the last year. She now has over 17,000 followers on Instagram (22_JordanNicole).

“I’m excited to get the sponsor exemption for the IOA Championship in Beaumont,” said Ontiveros. “I’ve been working hard on my game all of 2015 and into this year and I can’t wait to take it out on the course and play against my fellow competitors. I also want to thank IOA and the Epson Tour for granting me this opportunity.”

Huang won the the 2015 Ping 2-Day Series at Oak Creek and finished second at the 57th annual Lee Hammil Memorial.

The IOA Championship also recently announced a promotion where the first 100 fans to enter Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon on Sunday will receive a free Taylormade adjustable hat. Tickets to the IOA Championship are free to the public all three days of competition. Tournament play begins at 7:15 a.m. all three days.
