Hannah Collier, who has dual LPGA Tour and Epson Tour status by way of a T43 finish at 2015 LPGA Qualifying Tournament, Monday Qualified for the Kia Classic. It will be her third career LPGA Tour start. She Monday Qualified for the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic two years ago and the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open in 2015.
Collier carded a 3-under 69 to qualify for the Kia Classic. She was 3-under at the turn and closed bogey free to earn a spot. Collier said she made four or five six foot par saves on the inward nine.
“I’m really excited, I felt like I played pretty well during the practice round and I felt good going into Monday,” said Collier on Tuesday from Carlsbad, California. “I’m hoping I can capitalize on this opportunity with my dual status and get into more LPGA events."
Collier played college golf at the University of Alabama and was part of the 2012 National Championship team. She was a rookie on the Epson Tour in 2015 and made 18 starts with her best finish a tie for 15th at the Fuccillo Kia Championship in Albany, New York.
She expects to play a handful of Epson Tour events, but will also focus on trying to Monday Qualify when it fits her schedule.
