The Volvik Race for the Card money list is always difficult to predict. It might be even more challenging in 2015 because six of the final 12 events are on new golf courses.
A total of 12 events remain and plenty of drama will unfold as the Volvik Race for the Card money list take shape.
Following the Island Resort Championship, the Tour heads to Canadian Lakes, Michigan for the inaugural Tullymore Classic at Tullymore Golf Club. The grueling five week stretch comes to a close with the third and final event in Michigan.
After the off week, the Tour heads to Rochester, New York to continue the tradition of professional women’s golf in Rochester. The Danielle Downey Classic offers a $150,000 total tournament and the legendary Nancy Lopez is the honorary host. The Tour stays in New York the following week for the Fuccillo Kia Championship at Capital Hills. The winner of this event will receive a brand new Kia – cool!
July ends and August begins with a trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the PHC Classic at Brown Deer Park, the home of Tiger Woods’ professional debut in 1996 at the Greater Milwaukee Open. After a week off, the Tour heads to Boston for the W.B. Mason Championship. Did you see Tim Wakefield played in an exhibition match with Andy Brickley and Golf Channel’s Sara Brown yesterday at Thorny Lea Golf Club? A couple of Boston sports icons are definitely behind the event.
September is a full month with four events starting in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge, which will be a big money event for players. Stay tuned for a big announcement next week regarding the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge and the final total purse. The Tour shifts to Kansas for events in Mayetta and Garden City. Then, to El Dorado, Arkansas for the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout presented by PepsiCo.
The pressure is on when the Tour returns to Florida for the final two events of the season – the IOA Golf Classic in Longwood and the Epson Tour Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach. Every year, someone seems to sneak in at the last event. In 2014, it was Demi Runas. In 2013, it was Perrine Delacour. In 2012, it was Daniela Iacobelli. Without fail, someone from outside the top 10 will jump inside after a big finish in Daytona Beach. Who will it be?
