Players to wear teal to support ovarian cancer research

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA, April 30, 2014 – The Epson Tour, the official Road to the LPGA, is in Fort Myers this week for the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial. First-round play begins on Friday, May 2 at Cypress Lake Country Club.

The Epson Tour is hosting a “Teal Out” on Friday to coincide with the beginning of the tournament where players and staff members will wear teal colors to support ovarian cancer research.

Proceeds from the Chico’s Patty Berg Memorial will directly benefit the American Cancer Society, specifically supporting ovarian cancer research.

“The best part of hosting tournaments in different markets throughout the country is the opportunity to raise money and awareness for great organizations like the American Cancer Society,” said Chief Business Officer, Mike Nichols. “We encourage fans to join our players in wearing teal to support ovarian cancer research.”

Admission to the Chico’s Patty Berg has been graciously paid for through a partnership with CenturyLink.

The 144-player field will be vying for their share of the $100,000 total purse. The winner will receive $15,000 and take a significant step towards an LPGA Tour card for the 2015 season.
