Tracy Stanford
Tracy Stanford had her best tournament of the 2014 season at the IOA Golf Classic. She finished in a tie for fifth at 4-under-par with Cindy Feng, the Volvik Race for the Card money list leader, and Alejandra Llaneza.
It was her fourth career top-10 finish in her 62nd career Epson Tour event dating back to 2010. Last year, Stanford had just one top-10 result.
Stanford was the leader after the first-round at the IOA Golf Classic after posting a 4-under 67 on Friday. She stumbled in round two and posted a 2-over 73, but closed strong with a 2-under-par 69 to finish in a tie for fifth.
The former Texas Tech golfer has improved tournament-by-tournament this season. She missed the cut at the Visit Mesa Gateway Classic at Longbow Golf Club, finished T79 at the Volvik Championship and then placed T28 at the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic.
Now, Stanford can add a top-10 finish to her resume. Her performance earned her $3,500 and moved her from 75th to 25th on the Volvik Race for the Card money list after four events. Stanford’s on-course performance has earned her $4,518 this year.
She will now spend two weeks back home in Texas gearing up for tournament number five, the Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay in Sarasota, which begins the week of April 21.
