On Tuesday before the Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay, five Epson Tour players joined Guardian Retirement Solutions employees from around the country at the Center for Building Hope facility in Sarasota for a tour.
The Center for Building Hope offers free information, programs and services to cancer patients, caregivers and family members, while connecting them with others who are undergoing a similar experience. These support services are available through a network of professionally-led community-based centers, hospitals, community oncology practices and other non-profits, as well as online. With professionally-led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body programs utilizing the "Patient Active" concept, people affected by cancer learn vital skills to regain control, reduce feelings of isolation and restore hope, regardless of the stage of their disease.
Professionals Madeleine Sheils, Laura Kueny, Cara Freeman, Jessi White and Amy Meier participated in the event.
The Center for Building Hope facility is a state-of-the-art building that offers a variety of activities and amenities for cancer patients and their loved ones.
The golfers walked around the complex and learned about the different aspects of Center for Building Hope and how the organization functions to assist those in need.
Center for Building Hope and Brides Against Breast Cancer are the two beneficiaries of the Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay. Guardian is in its second years as the title sponsor of the Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay. Earlier this year, they signed on as the title sponsor through 2017.
