DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA, July 13, 2014 – Epson Tour graduate Mo Martin won the RICOH Women’s British Open with an amazing birdie on the 18th hole at Royal Birkdale on Sunday.
Martin's triumph is her first career LPGA Tour win.
Martin played full-time on the Epson Tour (known as the Futures Tour at the time) from 2006 through 2011. She played in 104 career events and recorded 23 career top-10 finishes.
Martin won three times on Tour: 2007 El Paso Golf Classic, 2008 USI Championship and the 2011 Eagle Classic.
Martin’s breakthrough year was 2011 when she won the Eagle Classic, had two third place finishes and 11 top-10 results. Martin earned $58,218 and finished third on the money list behind Kathleen Ekey and Lisa Ferrero.
Martin earned her LPGA Tour card and has not looked back. She had one top-10 finish on the LPGA Tour last year when she placed in a tie for third at the Kia Classic.
The Altadena, California native finished 46th on the LPGA money list in 2013 with $319,244 in earnings.
Her first career LPGA win is the 44th major title and 380th LPGA Tour event won by a Epson Tour graduate.
