Karrie Webb, Lindsey Wright, Sarah Jane Smith, Katherine Hull and Michelle Ellis are just a few Aussies currently on the LPGA Tour but after finishing eighth on the Epson Tour’s Volvik Race for the Card, Julia Boland’s name can now be added to the list.

The Tamworth, NSW, Australia native didn’t waste any time earning her LPGA Tour card as she was one of two rookies on this year’s Epson Tour to graduate to the LPGA.

In a 2012 season that included only one missed cut, Boland took her time easing her way inside the top-10 on the Volvik Race for the Card. In the first nine events of the year, Boland finished inside the top-20 four times with her best finish coming at the season-opening Florida’s Natural Charity Classic where she finished T15.

Coming off her only missed cut of the season at the Credit Union Challenge, Boland earned her first Epson Tour victory at the inaugural Four Winds Invitational which catapulted her inside the top-10 at No. 3. There was no turning back for Boland once she made her debut inside the top-10 as she finished no worse than T38 in the remaining five events after her win. In total, Boland posted an impressive eight top-25 finishes during her rookie season.

To cap off a season that would be considered successful in anyone’s book, Boland swept the 2012 Penske Performance Awards. The Texas A&M graduate was awarded the Penske Accuracy Advantage Award for the best rating in driving accuracy and received the Penske Total Driving Award for leading the combined statistic of driving accuracy and driving distance.
