May is almost over and it has been a fun journey so far... I started off the LPGA season doing Monday Qualifiers for the RR Donnelley in Phoenix and the LPGA Kia Classic. I did not qualify for the events, but I did gain a lot of experience. I stayed onsite for the RR Donnelley to practice and get comfortable being out there.
I recently earned a sponsor's exemption into the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic. It was a lot of fun playing in my first LPGA event as an LPGA member. I had my coach, Justin Hill, on the bag that week which was helpful. I played solid, but missed the cut by one shot. Also, I was the Golf Channel rookie feature which was very exciting, especially since my kids could watch me on TV. I am hoping to bring my family along to some future events. My kids are eager to check out the special play area onsite (Smucker's Childcare Center). Since I do not yet have full status, I am planning on doing more Monday qualifiers to get into more events. My number one goal this year is to earn full status. My game is ready and I am very excited for the rest of the season. Hope you keep up with my progress... I will leave you with the advice my son Owen, age 5, gave me, "Mom, I want you to do better than your best!"
